The Space Project

September 23, 2014

Cooperated with LASALLE College of the Arts
Designers: Sarah Hupcey, Song Zhang, David Arterberry
2014

Project fuses entertainment and art with the landscape to create a venue that is portable and flexible. The venue’s shape is influenced by Chinese lanterns with separate divisions. These divisions represent the four cultures that make up Singapore; Indian, Eurasian, Chinese, and Malay. These four cultures collectively unite the country. The innovative merging of portability, landscape, architecture, and art will be celebrated through the lighting. The lighting will embrace the venue’s shape and divisions through a variety of linear arrangements both internally and externally. The color pallet will be influenced by the portability of the venue.Arranging the pallet based on location and seasonal changes makes the venue as harmonious as possible in different locations.
